Notes

Two wedge shaped pieces of sandstone with inscriptions in English and Welsh on surface of each.

Caerphilly County Borough Council has expanded its public art programme over the past five years with the help of funding from various sources including the Arts Council of Wales Lottery Fund. The concept of incorporating public art in a package of regeneration initiatives was first tested in Caerphilly town centre in 1995. Work has also been carried out with Groundwork Caerphilly.

Information from Caerphilly C.B. Council: 'The Lower Twyn, with its new tourist information centre, marks the entrance to the town from the north. The square provides an opportunity for quiet contemplation by the cenotaph, but is also an important thoroughfare linking the new shopping development with the established town. Artwork at the Lower Twyn reflects the area's different functions.'
