Open public space with paving, carving, seating, wrought-iron railings and mosaic paving. The public space is divided from the private chapel garden by railings depicting Christian imagery. The floorscape consists of two circular spaces, one of which is a path maze of coloured brick with a font like centerpiece. The second is a tile and pebble mosaic. The artist designed oak seats and planting which surround the space.
The work was commissioned by Caerphilly County Borough Council as part of a three year programme, with funding from the Arts Lottery, to improve and refurbish towns in the county. The artists were found and the individual projects managed by Cywaith Cymru. For this work Rachel Fenner collaborated with a landscape architect.
Information from Caerphilly C.B. Council: 'Siloh Square is a newly created focal meeting place for the community which is designed to be interesting, safe, uplifting, welcoming, fun and contemplative.'
