High circular work incorporating six curved steel coal drams.
The sculpture played an important part in launching the National Cycle Network as well as the re-opening of the viaduct which is a popular time saving route across the Rhymney Valley between Hengoed and Maesycwmmer. The Network is run by the engineering charity Sustrans. It covers 6,500 miles of routes and roads used by cyclists for transport and recreation throughout Britain. A key part of their planning involves the introduction of artworks to their routes, a policy managed for them in Wales by Cywaith Cymru which includes commissions and residencies.
The work celebrates the original haulage companies that operated on the goods line that passed over the viaduct.
