Notes | ||
From 'The Bay and other Artwalks': "Originally conceived as a decorative scheme for the railway parapet, the artwork has been adapted to a tower structure which announces the city gateway to Cardiff Bay. Multi-layered panels offer a collage of photographs, drawings, nautical maps and celestial charts reflecting aspects of the Bay's cultural, architectural and maritime heritage - from industrial docks to waterfront regeneration. A pathway through the tower encourages exploration of its rich imagery."
Cardiff Bay Arts Trust was established in 1990 as part of a policy on public art set out by Cardiff Bay Development Corporation. Over the first decade CBAT has worked with public institutions, private corporations and with the local community to enrich the experience for those who visit, live and work in the area. Following the wind up of CBDC, Cardiff Bay Arts Trust became CBAT The Arts & Regeneration Agency and continues to operate UK wide and internationally.
