Two ornamented white stone arches linked by iron lampholder. Over each arch is an ox skull and garlands, and a hollowed medallion with intertwined anchors. On round plaque to left of gateway in raised white lettering, below logo: ROYAL VICTORIA VICTUALLING YARD / This is the former gateway to the yard, / opened in 1742. Once this area was full / of warehouses and offices, the headquarters / of the Navy Victualling Board. Food / and rum from here provisioned the / Royal Navy.
