Notes | ||
The memorial is located on an elevated bank enclosed on 3 sides by privet hedges. The site is approached by 2 steep stairways to left and right. At the summit is Christ on the Cross, with crown of thorns and cruciform halo. The Cross is octagonal and the shaft tapered as is the pillar which supports it. The capital of the pillar has foliate carving as have the junctions of the arms of the cross. The pillar is broached and stands on a pedestal with an octagonal upper and square lower part. This pedestal stands on a plain square plinth supported by the main square pedestal. | ||
