Notes

Ringed Celtic cross, the orb at the crossing of the arms with relief carving of flower head. On the arms and shaft other floral relief carvings. The tapered shaft of the cross is supported on a pedestal with recessed cornice, battered dado and high plinth. Supporting this, an unpolished granite step. The memorial is erected in the middle of an elliptical gravel surround with a small cypress at each end. Around this a small lawn, stone bollards, linked chain to front, stone wall to rear. Set into the wall behind, a slate tablet inscribed: THE WORLD WAR / 1939 - 1945 [beneath which 5 names are listed, forename initials only, ranks and regiments, incised and gilded]
