- beneath the interlocked slabs on the surrounding metal frame, a dual text printed in English (on left) and French (on right). The English text reads: This plaque was unveiled on 17th July 1962 / by Monsieur R. Fontbonne Deputy Mayor of Romans / Sur Isere and L.A. Robinson Esq. J.P. Chairman / of Coalville Urban District Council to commemorate / the visit of the Mayor of Romans and a / delegation from that town to Coalville their / English Twin Town.
