The doorway is formed with a broken bed pediment supported on ionic columns. Crouched into the spaces between the architrave responds over the column capitals and the broken bed of the pediment, and either side of the window, are draped female figures with foliage backgrounds. The figure on the left crouches with right knee raised, her right hand poised above her breast, her left hand to her forehead. She is framed by a swathe of drapery running up the left side of the carving and over her head. The figure on the right rests her head on her left hand, her right elbow resting on her raised right knee. Her left hand is lowered to her left hip. Above her drooping head is a leafing branch. | ||
