Notes | ||
Agriculture personified stands in the centre, crowned with wheat, a shepherd’s crook in her right outstretched hand, an apple branch in her left. Within the span of her arms, two boys play pastoral music, that on the left plays on a flute, that on the right cymbals. The four female figures to the sides typify, from left to right, the corn harvest, sheep-raising, fruit-growing, and dairy-farming. (3) | ||
