The memorial is in the form of a cenotaph and stands within a triangular plot of land, laid out with lawns and flower beds and bounded by a holly hedge, on the south side of Stadon Road. Constructed of granite ashlar, the memorial comprises a tall, shouldered pedestal with Swithland slate inscription tablets, raised on a base and two octagonal steps and surmounted by a Celtic ringed cross. The paths leading to the circle which surrounds the memorial echo the form of the Celtic cross. | ||
