16 monoliths, standing in rows, alone and in pairs; one pair stands apart from the main group

Inspired by the Standing Stones of Callanish on the Isle of Lewis, and often called 'Steelhenge', the sculpture was part of a landscaping project started in 1971. Callanish was sited in January 1974, but not unveiled until June 1977 when the landscaping project was completed
