Notes

Standing, draped figure of St. Mungo in an aedicule flanked by twisted columns, over an escutcheon bearing the Arms of Glasgow enclosed by an open topped segmental pediment supported by two crouching atlantes over Corinthian columns. In the tympanum flanking St. Mungo are two reliefs of standing, draped female figures with attributes representing the Textile Industry (spinning wheel and hank of yarn) and Agriculture (baskets of produce)

The building was erected as a banking hall for the Glasgow Savings Bank and is part of a larger scheme of alterations and additions to the bank's original premises at 99 Glassford Street (designed by John Burnet in 1866)
