Cement casts of 'everyday objects' including bath plugs, toothbrushes, shaving brushes, ties, books, grammophone records.
The 'Fragments' idea was developed by Project Ability in 1992 in association with the sculptors and patients at the hospital. The objects were originally cast in plaster for an exhibition and some pieces were later selected for casting in cement as decorative details for the interior walls of the entrance. The project was funded by Leverndale Hospital, Astra Pharmaceuticals, The Sir Hugh Fraser Foundation, and Strathclyde Regional Council.(1)
