Formerly over the entrance to Atlas Forge, owned and founded by Thomas Walmsley, 1866. The foundry stood at the corner of Fletcher Street and Bridgeman Street in Bolton and employed over 300 men in the 1860s and 70s. Walmsley (1812-1890) was also a partner in Woodside Mill, Great Lever and twice mayor of Bolton (1869-70 and 1870-71).(1) | ||
