War Memorial. Tapered cruciform column on stepped base, both of Portland stone. On three sides, sloped faces carry bonze palques recording the names of the fallen of the two world Wars; the fourth side carries an insciption in the stone face to the men of Whitefield who died in the Great War. On the tip of the column is a bronze figure of The Winged Victory standing ona globe encoiled by a serpent. At the base of the statue ar bronze wreathes ad swags. A partly-obscured signarure appears on the south-west face. | ||
