Notes | ||
Commissioned by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham in 1998. Historical information from the Valence House Museum, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, was used, and reference made to the Celtic knotwork at Barking Abbey.
Based on history of Barking, especially the fishing industry, using images of fish and nets. It is constructed from strands of aluminium interlaced with fish. Also reflects the area's Saxon history, resembling Anglo-Saxon metalwork jewellery.
