Notes

The roof of the building is surmounted by a turret and a cupola supported on eight pillars. The turret has a carved stone clock with bas relief floral central motif. No hands are carved on the clock face. Beneath the clock is an inscription, as above, and beneath that is a bust of Queen Adelaide.

Money for the dispensary was raised by voluntary contributions and was to benefit the poor of Bethanl Green. The dispensary was named after Queen Adelaide, wife of William IV.
