The roof of the building is surmounted by a turret and a cupola supported on eight pillars. The turret has a carved stone clock with bas relief floral central motif. No hands are carved on the clock face. Beneath the clock is an inscription, as above, and beneath that is a bust of Queen Adelaide. | ||
Money for the dispensary was raised by voluntary contributions and was to benefit the poor of Bethanl Green. The dispensary was named after Queen Adelaide, wife of William IV. | ||
