Notes

Sundial has a tall rectangular face with Roman numerals, lines and numbers engraved onto face.

The building was originally a Huguenot chapel built in 1743 designed by Thomas Stibbs, surveyor, with the work carried out by John Jull, carpenter.(1) It has a history of constantly changing use. It was the home of the London Society for Promoting Christianity Amongst the Jews, used by the Methodists, and from 1898-1976 by the Machzike Hadath Jewish Community, after which it was converted into the East London Mosque.(2)
